In the blossoming competition of the early Economic Miracle years Ludwig Erhard tirelessly emphasized that the preservation of free and open competition was the most important role of the state, and the German Federal Railroad seized the moment with an ingenious advertising enterprise. "Die Bahn ist frei" "The rairoad is open for use" joyously proclaimed the Deutsche Eisenbahn-Güterwagen-Reklame KG (German Railroad Freight Car Advertising Company) after over-coming some legal hurdles, and offered its promotional services to business. As early as September 26, 1960 the "Deutsche Eisenbahn-Güterwagen-Reklame Kommanditgesellschaft Fr. Albert Jentzsch" (Fr. Albert Jentzsch German Railroad Freight Car Advertising Company) had disappeared out of the business registers, however.
