Model: This is a five-part express train passenger car set consisting of four 1st/2nd class skirted express train passenger cars and a DSG dining car (skirted car). The cars have the correct paint scheme and lettering. Imprinting is used to represent the cover plates for the class numbers for 1st class so that 2nd class is visible on the models for use in "F-Zug" express trains. All of the cars have close coupler hooks. Total length over the buffers 520 mm / 20-1/2".
The 88856 locomotive goes perfectly with this car set.
The "F-Zug" express trains of the early Fifties generally had only 2nd class cars (corresponds to today's 1st class cars). When required, 1st class (eliminated in 1956) could also be offered. Then only four of the six seats in a compartment were occupied. Depending on the use of a car, 1st or 2nd class or both classes could be displayed at the entries, in which the class numbers 1 and 2 shown in relief were hidden by a cover plate of sheet metal. These cover plates could be installed in three positions by the crew.
