Prototype information

A loading gauge is a metal frame often located near the track scale. The space to the side of and above the tracks is the clearance gauge, and no parts of the load may extend out into this space. This clearance gauge prevents overloading of the cars. The clearance gauge differs among most of the European countries. The loading gauge regulates adherence to the clearance gauge.
