Everything clear? "Doornkaat", the grain spirits distilled three times and with an alcohol content of 38% by volume, is one of the most famous brand names for spirits. The firm was founded in 1806 in North German in East Frisia by the Mennonite from Groningen, Jan ten Doornkaat Koolman. The slogan "Doornkaat - aus Kornsaat" / "Doornkaat - from Grain Seeds" and the "connoisseur" enjoying it with deliberate slowness have been famous for decades. The brand presently belongs to the Berentzen Group, Inc. in Haselünne/Emsland, Germany.
