There is a permanent close coupling with a guide mechanism between the locomotive and tender. The rear of the tender has a Telex coupler that can be controlled in digital operation. The front of the locomotive has a close coupler with an NEM pocket. The locomotive has many separately applied details such as piping and sand pipes. Protective piston sleeves, brake lines, imitation prototype couplers, and figures of a locomotive engineer and a fireman are included.
